Try experimenting with different flower petals and fresh herbs from your garden.Always, always use Organic, pesticide and herbicide free flowers and herbs! For this recipe you will need:
Place one glass bowl upside down in the bottom of the stock pot. Place the other glass bowl right side up on top of the first bowl. Drop the flower petals or herbs in the bottom of the stock pot, around the first bowl. Pour the water over the petals, making sure it is enough to cover the layer of petals. Place the lid upside down on the stock pot, so that the handle is face down in the pot directly over the open bowl. Place the ice cubes on top of the lid. On medium-high heat, bring the water to a boil. Once it boils turn the heat down and simmer for no longer than 30 minutes. (If simmered too long the delicate flower essences will be destroyed.) Replace the ice cubes as they melt. You have just created your own stove top distiller! The fragrant water will rise as steam, hit the ice cold lid, and drip down into the glass bowl. Pour the floral water into beautiful glass jars and store in refrigerator for best results. Floral Waters Uses We recommend Mountain Rose Herbs for all aromatherapy ingredients.
