Distillation
Distillation is the most common method used for extracting pure essential oils from plants, spices, trees, and citrus fruits. The method is easy.
The plant material is steamed, or passed through hot water, which causes the essential oils to evaporate into the steam. The steam is collected and cooled to separate the water from the oils.
No chemicals are involved in this process, so it is the very best method for producing pure, therapeutic grade essential oils.
